As a Modeling and Machine Learning Laboratory Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Leading a diverse team of scientists and engineers developing technology using modeling and machine learning to generate value.
  • Initiating and planning technical work for our team that uses chemistry, physics, and engineering to deliver advances in technology or solve challenging problems.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or science, or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Three (3) years of managing or supervising technical teams with more than five (5) direct reports to deliver projects in a private, public, government or military environment.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Doctorate degree in data science, mechanical engineering, physics, electrical engineering, chemistry, chemical engineering or materials science from an accredited institution
  • Five (5) years of managing or supervising technical teams with more than eight (8) direct reports to deliver projects using cross-functional teams in a private, public, government or military environment.
  • Skills include: energizing others both up and down, business acumen, nurturing innovation, and ability to build and execute project plans

Travel: May include up to 15% domestic/international

The expected compensation range for this position is $188,251 - $230,084, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
