As a team member, you help fulfill our mission to make life better here for our community.The Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) Analyst acts as the primary liaison between Information Services and Laboratory operations, ensuring the implementation, integration, and maintenance of LIS applications in compliance with regulatory standards and clinical best practices. This role is critical in optimizing laboratory workflows, supporting instrument interfaces, troubleshooting system issues, and facilitating system enhancements. The LIS Analyst also provides training to new laboratory staff on the effective and safe use of the LIS, ensuring user competency and promoting adherence to quality and compliance standards. Our values ask for a deeper level of commitment, and what is asked of us we freely give because we believe in our mission.Required Qualifications:* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Medical Laboratory Technologist, Medical Laboratory Science, Information Systems, or equivalent level of experience* Minimum of three (3) years of experience in LIS or clinical system implementation within a healthcare setting* Experience supporting laboratory applications such as Oracle Health PathNet, Meditech LIS, Sunquest, Beaker, or similar* Familiarity with lab regulatory standards (CAP, DNV, TJC, OSHA, CLIA, etc.) and HIPAA compliance* Ability to provide on-call and after-hours support as needed* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)Preferred Qualifications:* Five (5) years of experience in healthcare IT or clinical laboratory informatics* ASCP certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), or related* Experience in Anatomical Pathology LIS systems, Microbiology LIS systems or interfacing lab instruments to EMR/EHR systems* Project management experienceDuties and Responsibilities:* Serve as primary LIS support contact for application end-users across the laboratory* Manage the implementation and optimization of LIS modules and interfaces with lab instruments and EMR systems* Facilitate business process redesign to align lab workflows with application functionality and best practices* Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot LIS applications, ensuring uptime and data integrity* Participate in test planning, validation, and change management for LIS software updates and instrument additions* Collaborate with IT and vendor teams to maintain LIS infrastructure and resolve escalated issues* Develop and deliver training to laboratory staff and super users; maintain training documentation* Support the creation and modification of test definitions, calculations, and report templates within the LIS* Assist in creating custom reports, dashboards, and data extracts for operational and regulatory needs* Contribute to internal audits, inspections, and accreditation activities involving LIS systems* Participate in project planning, stakeholder meetings, and laboratory go-live support as required* Travel to clinical sites for rounding, go-lives, or leadership meetings when necessary* Each caregiver is responsible for implementing SJRMC's Service Standards into their daily work: Safety, Courtesy, Effectiveness, and Stewardship* Other duties as assignedPhysical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions:* Physical presence onsite is essential, with remote work as agreed upon.* May require extended work hours and on-call coverage during significant projects and support of systems.* Light to heavy work exerting up to twenty-five (25) pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to ten (10) pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.* Ability to tolerate prolonged periods of standing and walking.* Able to work within time constraints.* High stress situations and multiple tasks.* Ability to maintain a professional appearance.* Must be courteous to co-workers and patient/family.* Participate and promote teamwork.
