Laboratory Assistant - PRIDE Health : Job Details

Pride Health is hiring for a Lab Assistant I/ Accessioner to support our client's medical facility based in San Diego, CA 92128. This is a contract opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

About the Role

Summary:

The Lab Assistant plays a critical role in a high-volume, production-based clinical laboratory environment by supporting specimen processing and ensuring the smooth operation of lab procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, sort, and prepare clinical lab specimens for testing and analysis
• Perform data entry and scanning of specimen and patient information
• Ensure proper functioning of laboratory equipment; perform minor maintenance as needed
• Troubleshoot specimen-related issues to avoid delays or errors
• Replenish supplies at the testing bench to maintain workflow efficiency
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Complete administrative tasks such as record logs and documentation
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to meet safety and quality standards

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous experience in a medical, laboratory, or production environment preferred
• Comfortable handling biological specimens
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively
• Basic computer literacy and accurate data entry skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive production environment
• Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods
• Must pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed

Additional Information:

Title : Lab Assistant I/ Accessioner

Location : San Diego, CA 92128

Schedule: 2rd shift. Mon – Fri. 12 pm to 8:30 pm or 9 pm to 6:30 am

Pay: $16 To $17.60/hour

Contract Duration : 3 months

*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
