Laboratory Assistant - PRIDE Health : Job Details

Pride Health is hiring a Lab Assistant to support our client's medical facility, which is based in Irving, TX, 75063

This is a Contract job with a possible extension opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Location: Irving, TX, 75063

Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday 1 AM - 9:30 AM (40hours/week)

Pay Range: $15.20- $ 17.20 (The offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.) The rate is based on years of DIRECT EXPERIENCE as listed in the resume

Roles & Responsibilities

• Receive, sort, and prepare laboratory specimens for testing, including centrifuging, aliquoting, labeling, and slide preparation.
• Perform routine maintenance on laboratory instruments, decontaminate work areas, and conduct weekly radioactive wipe tests.
• Assist with preparing reagents and media, maintaining department records, and replacing gas cylinders as needed.
• Carry out quality control checks, resolve pending test lists, and track or locate missing specimens.
• Utilize laboratory computer systems for data entry, specimen tracking, and ensure safe disposal of biohazardous materials.

Required Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Background in math and science preferred
• Medical assistant or clinical training is helpful but not mandatory

Work Experience:

• No prior experience required
• On-the-job training will be provided for all technical tasks
