About this Position

ChristianaCare is searching for a Labor Relations Specialist, in conjunction with the Labor Relations Manager, to be responsible for maintaining a positive and productive relationship with the unionized employees and ensuring there is compliance with the collective bargaining agreement and labor laws. The specialist will be responsible for administration of the labor contract, grievances, and the development of positive labor relations strategies.

Schedule - This is a hybrid position with a combination of in-office and remote work. Will be discussed during recruiting process.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

Contract Administration

  • Assist in the implementation and interpretation of the of the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Maintain accurate records of contract provisions and related documents
  • Provide guidance on the on the interpretation of the collective bargaining agreement
  • Monitor contract compliance

Grievance and Dispute Resolution

  • Assist in the investigation and resolution of employee grievances
  • Gather and analyze information and documentation before making recommendations
  • Prepare documentation and reports for grievances
  • Assist in preparing for arbitrations.

Employee and Labor Relations Support

  • Provide Support to Labor Relations Manager and Director of Employee Relations in resolving issues
  • Participate in bargaining negotiations
  • Assist in developing Labor Relations processes and procedure

Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local labor laws and regulations
  • Stay informed of changes in labor laws and best practices.
  • Assist in conducting audits and investigations as needed

Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with the union representatives, leaders and

caregivers.

  • Facilitate communication on behalf of the system and the union.
  • Assist with organizing and conducting Labor-Management meetings and training session

Data Analysis

  • Analyze labor relations data and metrics
  • Prepare key labor relations indicators

Education and experience requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration or related field required.
  • 3 years of labor relations experience
