Under the supervision of the Chief People Officer, the Labor and Employee Relations Business Partner supports the organization's goals by managing Labor and Employee Relations activities at MetroPlusHealth.

Job Description

  • Interpret contracts, agreements, and Labor Relations Orders related to wages, hours, and working conditions affecting labor and employee relations.
  • Monitor adherence to performance standards and organizational policies.
  • Assist management in preparing for disciplinary hearings and counseling sessions.
  • Investigate employee complaints and handle employee relations matters, including performance issues and dispute resolution.
  • Serve as Hearing Officer for grievances and disciplinary hearings, representing the organization in appeals and arbitration.
  • Prepare reports and analyze case activity, trends, and patterns.
  • Engage with Union representatives to discuss and resolve issues.
  • Maintain liaison with labor agencies and offices related to labor relations.
  • Develop and communicate HR policies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Train supervisors and managers on labor and employee relations.
  • Manage Workplace Violence Prevention Program and chair the Occupational Health and Safety Committee.
  • Report OSHA data and conduct legal research as needed.
  • Draft policy exceptions and complete assigned tasks and projects.
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • JD or Master's Degree in Labor Relations, Personnel Administration, Public Administration, Management, Economics, Law, or related field.
  • At least 4 years of progressive experience in labor relations, including negotiation and agreement administration.
  • Human Resources background required.
  • Legal research experience preferred (1-2 years).
