Position Overview Reporting to the Associate Director of Regulatory Affairs, the Labeling Compliance Specialist provides general support of the product and label compliance function. The position will be responsible for coordinating and reviewing the creation and approval of labeling/packaging artwork and generations of print specifications for labels and packaging, as well as providing guidance on recipe compliance in both domestic and global markets. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide support to help ensure that the Company's product and labeling comply with Federal, State, local, and export regulations.
- Review/proofread labeling and artwork for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Provide guidance on formatting of labeling and packaging to ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, TTB, and other regulatory rules for labeling and packaging, including global market regulations.
- Work with export consultants on formula and label validation, as well as obtaining information on compliance in specific global markets.
- Evaluate new and existing ingredients for regulatory compliance against applicable US and export food regulations ensuring that the ingredients meet company's internal specifications and are in support of claims and product labeling on pack.
- Provide input to internal ingredient specifications to help ensure ongoing regulatory and internal compliance.
- Help determine labeling terms to be used for finished products with consideration of business needs for transparency.
- Assist with responses to internal inquiries regarding use, function, origin, limits and other details of ingredients and products as appropriate.
- Assist the processes that continuously review and assist in ensuring that all packaging have accurate and complete Nutritional labeling information in conformance with Label Master Data and that all packaging complies with all applicable regulations and guidelines.
- Maintain basic knowledge of the regulatory landscape (e.g., regulations, issues) that may affect the food industry.
- Participate on cross-functional teams working on innovation and reformulation projects across the entire portfolio helping to provide input and guidance.
- Participate actively in team meetings to develop strategies to comply with upcoming regulatory requirements.
- Maintain familiarity with ingredients and formulations.
- Manage multiple projects to ensure successful delivery of ingredient information on time and meeting agreed upon success criteria.
- Participate in customer FSQ aspects of the relationship with customers, in conjunction with the FSQ Systems team.
- Assist the FSQ Systems team with compliance to customer and regulatory requirements, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a science related area of study.
- Minimum of 3 years industry experience in FDA and/or USDA labeling regulations.
- Proven ability to exercise accurate judgment and independently evaluate information critically.
- Ability to interpret, communicate and execute plans or instructions in a time sensitive manner with limited direction and resources in a frequently changing environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate and influence others in the organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities and meet ambitious timeliness.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical data sheets and other various industry related documentation.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity.
- Ability and means to travel if needed; must possess a valid driver's license and proof of valid insurance including liability and property damage coverage.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in food science, Food Technology, Nutrition, or a food science related area of study.
- 5 plus years of industry experience in FDA and/or USDA labeling regulations.
- Experience working with artwork review software.
- Experience working with product development software, such as Product Vision, Genesis, etc.
