Lab Technician - LOUISIANA STAFFING : Job Details

We are seeking a Lab Technician to perform wet chemistry techniques and run samples through various instrumentation such as GC, GC/MS, and ICP. The technician will be responsible for submitting reports through our systems and coordinating with operations and other management team members. The position involves working in a lab setting for an oil recycling company, focusing on instrumentation and wet chemistry.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct distillations and flash point testing.
• Perform pH testing and viscosity measurements.
• Determine the total acid number.
• Operate and maintain ICP and gas chromatography equipment.
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with the operations and management teams.
• Submit detailed and accurate reports.

Essential Skills:

• Proficiency in GC, GC/MS, and ICP.
• Strong foundation in chemistry.
• Mechanical aptitude to maintain laboratory equipment.
• Adherence to lab safety protocols and quality control measures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Biology, with a preference for Chemistry.
• Experience in a laboratory setting.
• Familiarity with titration, flash point, pH, and viscosity analysis.

Work Environment:

The lab operates Monday through Friday with shifts from 5 AM to 2 PM or 7 AM to 4 PM. Training is provided from 7 AM to 4 PM. Every third weekend, the technician is required to work on-site from 7 AM to 12 PM and return at 7 PM to run plant samples for 2-4 hours. During these weekend shifts, technicians are on-call and compensated for a minimum of 4 hours.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Marrero, Louisiana. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
