Job Description:

  • Provide hands-on technical skill and engineering support to design and development project activities on new and existing products. Including but not limited to, fabrication of prototypes-, small- and large-scale sample builds, utilizing sewing and ultrasonic welding processes, for experimental concepts and feasibility evaluations.
  • Participate in executing technical and/or cross-functional project work, including sub-assembly and finished device build and testing to support the engineering of robust and manufacturable products. Previous experience with the development, manufacturing and testing of textiles is preferred.
  • Develop and execute test methods which specify measurement equipment, test set-up, measurement systems analysis, and data analysis.
  • Write detailed technical reports based on design verification analysis/testing for design changes and product design activities.
  • Ensure compliance with client quality policies, procedures, and practices as well as with all local, state, federal and client safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize statistical tools and computer analysis.

Responsibilities and Lab Duties:

  • Follow instructions provided by Project Technical Leadership
  • Cleans lab supplies and glassware
  • Operates glass washers, dryers, and autoclaves
  • Assists with the removal and disposal of waste chemicals
  • Provides training support for on-boarding and/or new procedures
  • Demonstrates the ability to follow established procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Must follow all client housekeeping policies and procedures
  • Must follow all client safety policies and procedures
  • Must be able to work overtime as required to meet client business requirements
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications

Minimum Education/Experience:

  • BS degree in engineering is required (Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering preferred).
  • 0-2 years of engineering experience is required, preferably in medical devices.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize statistical tools and computer analysis.

Basic Skills:

  • Ability to demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Strong time management skills required

Proficient/Working Skills:

  • Proficiency with MS Software Suite including Excel and Laboratory Mechanical Test Equipment is required
