Lab Tech - Community Health Systems : Job Details

The Lab Technician performs routine and specialized laboratory tests on blood, body fluids, and other specimens to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of disease. Under appropriate supervision, this role supports accurate and timely test processing through specimen preparation, test execution, equipment maintenance, and quality control. The Lab Technician follows established protocols and regulatory requirements and may assist with training, chain-of-custody collections, and interdepartmental support to ensure consistent and reliable laboratory operations. Essential Functions Performs moderate- and high-complexity laboratory testing accurately and efficiently according to established procedures and protocols. Verifies and documents test results; reports findings in a timely manner using the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
