Lab Courier-PRN - Lake Charles Memorial Health System : Job Details

OF POSITION: The Courier is responsible for assuring appropriate specimen pick-up at offsite clinics, physician offices, Lake Charles Memorial Hospital for Women Laboratory and Moss Memorial Health Clinic Monday through Friday. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Accepts properly packed and labeled specimens for referral to LCMH, Moss Memorial Health Clinic and LCMHW laboratories with appropriate orders for transportation. Transports specimens being referred to LCMH laboratories according to OSHA standards and hospital/laboratory standard operating procedures. Delivers laboratory reports and supplies for the collection of specimens that will be referred to LCMH laboratories. Picks up dry ice for referral section of the laboratory as needed. Only transport items directly related to hospital or laboratory business. Responsible for assuring courier vehicle cleanliness, organization and preventive maintenance at scheduled time frames.
