Technical Responsibilities; related to specimen handling. Appropriately prioritizes processing and transport of routine and stat specimens. Complies with all established guidelines to ensure integrity of all laboratory specimens. Example: Inverts tubes, refrigeration when necessary, clotting and centrifugation. Successfully handles multiple tasks and changing priorities. Complies with all established regulations, policies and procedure regarding packaging and transport. Clinical Responsibilities; related to specimen identification, collection and labeling. Properly identifies patient/specimen using established policies. Performs specimen collection in an accurate and timely manner. Complies with all established policies regarding specimen labeling.
