Lab Assistant - Maryville - Mosaic Life Care : Job Details

This position is responsible for providing health care services in the outpatient and inpatient clinical settings, within scope of education and experience. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Provides appropriate patient care and customer service. This position is employed by Mosaic Health System. Duties Accurately performs and reports laboratory testing in timely manner according to laws and regulations. Properly identifies patients, without exception, prior to specimen collection. Properly collects (phlebotomy), labels, processes and preserves specimens in a timely manner. Orders necessary supplies or notifies the person responsible for ordering them. Operates equipment appropriately. Performs routine office duties such as customer service, answering the phone, stocking, cleaning, copying, faxing, coding, order entry, charges, reports, and filing.
