Category Food & Beverage Description Cape Cod Central Railroad is seeking an experienced dishwasher for the 2025 dining train season. The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen equipment, utensils, dishes, and glassware, ensuring a safe and efficient kitchen environment. Experience preferred, will train the right candidate. Work Location: Hyannis, MA Responsibilities:

• Scrape and pre-wash dishes to ensure proper cleaning. Load dishwasher and/or wash dishes.
• Operate and maintain commercial dishwashers, ensuring proper water temperature, detergent levels, and machine function.
• Wash, sort, and stack dishes, glassware, utensils, and cookware according to established procedures.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures, including proper hand washing and food handling practices.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary environment throughout the dishwashing area. Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
• Dispose of trash and recyclables properly.
• Assist with other kitchen tasks as needed, such as unloading deliveries, stocking supplies, and cleaning up spills.
• Maintain a positive and cooperative attitude, working effectively as part of a team.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the supervisor immediately.

Position Requirements

• Previous experience in a commercial kitchen setting, preferably as a dishwasher, is preferred.
• Ability to operate and maintain commercial dishwashers
• Ability to lift heavy dishes, pots, pans, trays.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work in a hot and humid environment.
