The Electrical Design Engineer functions in a mid-level engineering capacity performs all aspects of conventional and nuclear design engineering. • Power System Studies: Conduct and review detailed AC/DC calculations using ETAP, including short circuit, voltage drop, arc-flash, motor starting, and relay coordination.
• Procurement & Vendor Support:
• Develop and review equipment specifications.
• Participate in bid evaluations and manage vendor Q&A tracking.
• Design Development:
• Prepare scoping documents and perform constructability reviews.
• Design and review lighting, communications, and security systems.
• Collaboration & Client Interface:
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Engage with clients and implementation personnel.
• Travel: Visit client/vendor offices and plant sites for design reviews and construction coordination.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Experience: 5+ years in electrical system design for industrial or nuclear power plant projects.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficient in selecting equipment and materials.
• Experienced in preparing engineering design packages, calculations, and specifications.
• Skilled in designing low and medium voltage distribution systems (e.g., transformers, generators, motors, relays).
• Soft Skills:
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Highly detail-oriented.
• Licensure: PE license or ability to obtain.
