Position Type: Non-Aligned/DirectorDate Posted: 7/29/2025Location: BCSSSD/BCIT SharedClosing Date: Until FilledPosition: Director of Security (Shared) Location: Burlington County Special Services School District (BCSSSD) & Burlington County Institute of Technology (BCIT) Position Summary BCSSSD and BCIT are seeking a shared Director of Security to maintain a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors across both districts. The Director will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive safety protocols, access control, emergency preparedness, asset protection, and risk management strategies. This individual will also supervise and train security personnel while ensuring the daily operation and maintenance of modern digital security systems. Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree obtained from an accredited University or College.
• Have a valid New Jersey driver's license with no serious violations.
• Have five (5) years of supervisory experience with a law enforcement agency (ranked sergeant or above).
• Show evidence of supervising law enforcement officers or security personnel.
• Exhibit a personality that demonstrates interpersonal skills that relate well with students, staff, Administration, parents and the community.
• Demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Must have a strong background in building security, including design, set-up and daily operation of digital electronic security systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Possess an understanding of the criminal justice system.
• Experience and expertise in school-related investigative fields, related juvenile enforcement and the development of prevention and intervention programs.
• Complete a criminal history background check.
• Ability to provide leadership and guidance regarding safety and security issues in an educational environment.
• Demonstrate ability in training and supervision of security personnel.
• Current residency in New Jersey, approved residency waiver or candidate agrees to obtain residency within one year of employment.
