K-12 Curriculum Integration Specialist (SEL)The Penfield Central School District is seeking a dynamic and student-centered Curriculum Integration Specialist with a focus on Social Emotional Learning (SEL) to join our educational team. This vital role will support the design, integration, and implementation of SEL initiatives aligned with the district's multi-tiered system of support (MTSS). The SEL Integration Specialist will play a key role in promoting culturally responsive, inclusive, and trauma-informed SEL practices across classrooms and schools.

Teacher On Special AssignmentK-12 Curriculum Integration Specialist (SEL)The Penfield Central School District is seeking a dynamic and student-centered Curriculum Integration Specialist with a focus on Social Emotional Learning (SEL) to join our educational team. This vital role will support the design, integration, and implementation of SEL initiatives aligned with the district's multi-tiered system of support (MTSS). The SEL Integration Specialist will play a key role in promoting culturally responsive, inclusive, and trauma-informed SEL practices across classrooms and schools.This Specialist should demonstrate commitment to student well-being, equity, and the development of the whole child. The Specialist will work collaboratively with students, staff, families, and school leaders to strengthen school climate and foster social-emotional competencies District-wide. This position reports to District Directors.Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Integration and Support
  • Collaborate with teachers and curriculum teams to implement SEL curricula across content areas and grade levels.
  • Support new and current teachers with integrating SEL into instructional practices.
  • Collaboratively refine and align SEL curriculum resources to meet district-wide goals and classroom needs.
  • Assist in applying SEL goals to broader academic and behavior supports.
  • Equity-Driven SEL Interventions
  • Develop culturally and linguistically responsive SEL interventions and strategies.
  • Address cultural differences between students, teachers, and staff to support inclusion and equity.
  • Design and support mental health and crisis prevention systems that are reflective of students' diverse backgrounds.
  • Student Identification and Progress Monitoring
  • Collaboratively use SEL screeners and other data tools to identify at-risk students and support intervention planning.
  • Collaboratively monitor progress of students receiving SEL supports and those with Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
  • Assist in developing and implementing SEL evaluation plans, including lesson observations and fidelity tracking.
  • Collaboration and Capacity Building
  • Establish strong professional relationships with students, staff, families, and community stakeholders.
  • Serve as a central resource for SEL information, programming, and materials.
  • Model SEL practices and language in day-to-day interactions to promote universal implementation.
  • Community Engagement and Collaboration
  • Build strong relationships with students, families, and staff to ensure the curriculum is responsive to community needs and student-centered.
  • Coordinate access to curriculum resources and support systems that enhance student well-being, belonging, and academic growth.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in general/special education, School Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work.
  • Valid certification.
  • Experience implementing SEL programming or related behavior/social-emotional supports in K–12 settings.
  • Deep understanding of culturally responsive practices, restorative practices, and trauma-informed care.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teams and communities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
