JURISolutions Legal has collaborated with a law firm located in Manhattan, New York to find a Junior Trademark Paralegal for a Temp to Hire position. The ideal candidate should have at least three years of experience in managing U.S. and foreign trademark portfolios. The role entails supporting partners and associates with all aspects of U.S. and foreign trademark prosecution, such as preparing and filing trademark applications and prosecution documents via electronic filing systems, collecting and reviewing data, and utilizing document management databases. This is a remote position. Fundamental tasks include:

• Responsible for a wide range of duties relating to both U.S. and foreign trademark applications at all phases of prosecution.
• Monitors and manages the trademark prosecution docket, ensuring all deadlines are met promptly and docket updates are communicated.
• Prepares files and maintains official correspondence including, but not limited to, information disclosure statements, formality documents, foreign attorney instructions, office action responses, assignments, and fee payment instructions.
• Manages client portfolios, including maintaining electronic files, and preparing, and maintaining status reports.
• Ensures the accuracy and completeness of application information and formalities. Obtains and files outstanding documentation such as priority documents, powers of attorney, assignments, and formal drawings, and coordinates document legalization needed to comply with trademark office requirements.
• Assists with portfolio transfers including review of the electronic file history and submission of power of attorney documents.
• Serves as a contact for client billing and communication, including reviewing bills for appropriate fee agreements and billing rates.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Requirements to be considered for this role include:

• 3 -5 years of trademark prosecution paralegal experience is required.
• A minimum of a high school diploma is required. Paralegal certification or a bachelor's degree is preferred.
• A firm understanding of domestic and international laws, regulations, and procedures relating to trademark prosecution is required.
• Experience in using docketing systems, trademark portfolio management databases, document management systems, and electronic USPTO filings is required.
• Able to prioritize time-sensitive assignments and find solutions to complete complex tasks
• Strong written and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail to ensure projects meet business goals
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook
• MUST be authorized to work in the US.
