Junior Systems Administrator Location: Dublin, TX Status: Full-Time, On-Site About the Opportunity We're seeking a detail-oriented Junior Systems Administrator to support and grow within our IT department. This role sits between Help Desk and Systems Engineering, focusing on day-to-day server and network administration, troubleshooting, and infrastructure support under the mentorship of senior engineering staff. Key Responsibilities Assist with daily administration, monitoring, and maintenance of servers, networks, and system infrastructure Apply routine updates, patches, and configuration changes to operating systems and enterprise applications Monitor system logs and performance metrics; escalate anomalies or potential issues Support cable pulls and network device installations (e.g., cameras, door access systems) Manage user accounts—creation, permissions, and access troubleshooting Maintain and update operational documentation (systems, configurations, processes) Help implement and test backup procedures and disaster-recovery plans Automate routine tasks using basic scripting (PowerShell, Bash, etc.) Provide advanced support to Help Desk for deeper system or network issues Participate in hardware/software deployments: imaging, configuration, and rollout Learn and apply security best practices to ensure system integrity and compliance Ideal Candidate Profile Experience:3+ years in IT support/help-desk roles and/or up to 2 years in a systems administration capacity Hands-on experience pulling cables and setting up network infrastructure Technical Skills:Working knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux environments in a business setting Familiarity with networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP), Active Directory, and basic virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) Basic scripting proficiency (PowerShell, Bash, etc.) Education & Certifications:Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco) are a plus but not required Soft Skills & Competencies:Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities Excellent time-management and organizational skills Clear communication—able to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences Adaptable and dependable: manages competing demands, meets commitments, and follows directions Proactive initiative: volunteers for new responsibilities, seeks self-development, and takes calculated risks
