We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Junior Seal Ecology Support Specialist - Manned Surveys to support an upcoming long-term contract (contingent upon award). Lynker operates under FLOAT - a 'Fish' and 'Lynker' Ocean Alliance Team - a Joint Venture Prime contract holder for NOAA ProTech Fisheries.

Responsibilities

Duties of the Junior Seal Ecology Support Specialist - Manned Surveys:

  • Participate in manned aerial surveys, including:
  • Visually identify and record pinniped species
  • Take digital photographs of sufficient quality for species and individual identification, recording effort and metadata following government protocols
  • Use and maintain government-provided equipment, protocols, manuals, training, and electronic data entry systems
  • Prepare for and de-stage from field projects
  • Contribute to survey reports, manuscripts, and presentations
  • Provide activity and analysis summaries for MMPA research permits
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • 75+ hours of aerial survey experience with North Atlantic pinnipeds identification
  • 75+ hours conducting aerial sighting surveys
