POSITION DESCRIPTION As a Junior Industrial Designer at Sellmark Corporation, you will play a key role in the product development process, from concept generation to final production. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will leverage your design expertise to create innovative and visually compelling solutions that meet the needs of our products and exceed industry standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS - Engage with external partners, including factories and suppliers, to source potential new products, evaluate manufacturing capabilities, and gather quotations.
- Generates conceptual design sketches and drawings.
- Develops and presents compelling design proposals to department heads or project stakeholders.
- Create detailed designs by hand or using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Fabricates prototypes via 3D printing, hand, and power tools.
- Understands the technical aspects of materials and apply them to design appropriately.
- Leads and executes comprehensive testing protocols for new product concepts, designs, and prototypes, ensuring performance, durability, and user satisfaction.
- Collaborates closely with Quality Assurance to develop robust testing methodologies and analyze product performance data for both new and existing products.
- Coordinates across departments and tracks projects using project management systems to ensure deadlines are met.
- Develops 3D models for marketing graphical materials and illustrations.
- Participates in market and user-experience research through sales field trips, field hunts, and interactions with customers at trade shows.
- Assists with technical training of Sales/Marketing/Quality Assurance on new products.
Perform additional duties as required to support the department's effective operations.
QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree in industrial design.
- Model making experience.
- Highly proficient in SolidWorks modeling software.
- Knowledge to set up and operate 3D printers and select appropriate materials for such operations.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously from concept to late product lifecycle.
- Willing to study and learn various technologies, markets, and competition.
- Ability to set up and operate product test criteria.
- Self-motivated, decisive, and able to work in a team environment.
- Must possess strong communication skills with the ability to understand technical language and translate for non-technical employees and customers.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Experience and interest in outdoor/hunting markets is a plus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time. The employee may be required to bend, twist, reach, push, pull and operate office machinery and motor vehicles.

WORK SCHEDULE/HOURS The role primarily aligns with standard business hours; however, flexibility is essential to accommodate varying schedules based on business demands. This may include evening, weekend, and holiday shifts, as well as hours outside of typical departmental operations.
