The Department of Design & Construction, Division of Infrastructure, is seeking a Junior Engineer to join our Engineering Services' Specifications team.

Responsibilities include conducting research studies, engineering investigations, assessments, and civil engineering tasks of moderate complexity under supervision. The scope encompasses design, drafting, investigations, cost estimation, specification writing, structural calculations, field surveys, and site inspections.

Authorization to work in the United States is required. The NYC Department of Design and Construction does not sponsor visas. Applicants must meet all requirements at the time of application.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A baccalaureate degree in civil engineering from an accredited college. Degrees in other engineering fields or civil engineering technology are not acceptable.

Preferred Skills:

  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
  • Construction knowledge (roadway, sewer, water main)
  • Familiarity with NYC DOT, NYS DOT, NYC DEP specifications, MUTCD, AASHTO standards
  • Understanding of NYC infrastructure and engineering practices
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and ENV SP credential (preferred)
  • Valid driver's license (required)
  • Personal vehicle (optional)
