JOB SUMMARY
The Junior Credit Officer role will support management and account executives by approving or providing alternate structures for insurance premium finance transactions. This individual will work as part of a team to review and approve assigned quotes in line with corporate and credit policy. The Junior Credit Officer monitors economic and industry conditions to support credit decision process. They must be comfortable communicating with internal management and our clients management when presenting deals. The ideal candidate has knowledge of property and casualty insurance along with various coverages and policies. In addition to daily credit review duties, this role will help with any necessary reporting. This role will work with various departments on any special projects, and test and support credit system enhancements.
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES
Analyze and evaluate credit strengths and weakness of existing or potential customers. Review and approve quotes in line with corporate and credit policy. Individually responsible for credit decisions up to $1 million and $250K in unsecured risk.
Review Dun & Bradstreet reports, customer financials, S&P, Moodys and EDGAR as well as any available online resources.
Present credit recommendations on large transactions to senior management and senior Credit staff
Hold calls with insureds and agency personnel to gain additional insight into a companys financials.
Participate in quarterly portfolio review calls and contribute to special projects as needed.
Communicate effectively with account executives and regional management.
REQUIRED SKILLS
3-5 years of relevant work experience
Strong credit analysis and communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Insurance industry knowledge
Credit training program and property and casualty insurance background preferred.
EDUCATION
Bachelors Degree
