Job Summary:

Tactile Medical is seeking an API Integration Engineer who will leverage the Boomi integration platform to facilitate communication and data exchange between various software systems. The role involves designing integration solutions, implementing and testing these solutions, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure efficient and reliable integrations.

Responsibilities:

• Implementing Integration Solutions: Leverage Boomi as the primary platform to connect systems and applications using APIs and at times utilize programming languages and frameworks such as .net, Python, REST, etc., to handle data transformation, validation, and error handling.

• API Documentation: Participate in the documentation of APIs to define their functionalities, endpoints, parameters, authentication methods, rate limits, and error handling procedures.

• Integration Design: Work with the provided architecture to develop integration strategies to facilitate seamless communication and data exchange between different software systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.

• Testing Integration Solutions: Conduct and support Quality Assurance to complete thorough testing of integration implementations to verify functionality, data accuracy, and error handling under various scenarios, including edge cases and load conditions.

• Troubleshooting and Debugging: Identify and resolve issues that arise during integration, including API endpoint mismatches, authentication failures, data format inconsistencies, and performance bottlenecks.

• Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with software developers, system architects, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand integration requirements, clarify specifications, and ensure alignment with overall project goals.

• Documentation and Reporting: Document integration processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for future reference and sharing knowledge with team members. Reporting progress, challenges, and solutions to project stakeholders.

• Staying Updated on API Technologies: Keep abreast of new API technologies, standards, best practices, and industry trends to continually improve integration processes and leverage emerging opportunities.

• Security and Compliance: Ensure that integration solutions adhere to security protocols, healthcare data privacy regulations, and compliance standards, implementing authentication mechanisms, encryption techniques, and access controls as necessary.

• Support and Maintenance: Provide ongoing support and maintenance for integrated systems, monitoring API usage, performance metrics, and error logs, and implementing enhancements or updates to optimize integration efficiency and reliability over time.

Qualifications:

Required:

• 2 years of experience in integrations and maintaining APIs, in Boomi Platform

• Working knowledge of Postman for testing, analyzing and resolving issues identified during product development

• Experience in the medical device and healthcare domain with understanding of the space, building software applications to drive digital experiences

• Experience supporting development of cloud based services and user applications for native mobile and web applications

• Knowledge of how APIs work, their endpoints, request methods, authentication mechanisms, response formats, error handling, and rate limiting

• Familiarity with web services technologies, including HTTP/HTTPS protocols, JSON, XML, and data serialization/deserialization methods

• Understanding of various data formats and protocols used in API communication, such as JSON, XML, CSV, and protocol buffers. Knowledge of data transformation techniques to convert data between different formats

• Experience with integration platforms, preferably Dell Boomi, and ability to use these platforms to build, deploy, and manage integrations between systems

• Basic understanding of databases and SQL (Structured Query Language) and ability to query databases, retrieve data, and perform data manipulations as part of integration processes

• Understanding of security principles and best practices for API integration, including authentication, authorization, encryption, and data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)

• Goal oriented with solid planning and time management skills

• Excellent communication, follow through, attention to detail, documentation and collaboration skills

• Ability to think critically and use strong problem-solving skills

• A team-oriented personality with the initiative to accomplish goals
