Description TEKsystems is seeking a highly motivated Jr Systems Engineer with foundational experience in systems administration, virtualization, and automation tools. The engineer will assist in supporting and deploying infrastructure solutions across classified environments, including Windows and Linux systems, virtual machines, and enterprise applications. This entry-level role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and contribute to secure, resilient architectures used by research teams and military personnel. The engineer will be part of a collaborative multidisciplinary IT team that supports innovation for the Air Force's Munitions Directorate. Required Qualifications: Must have an Active Secret Clearance (must have ability to upgrade clearance to TS/SCI)Must have CompTIA Security+CEExperience with VMware platforms (vSphere, vCenter, or Horizon)Exposure to automation or scripting tools such as Terraform, Packer, Ansible, or PowerShellFamiliarity with Windows Server and Linux-based systems (Ubuntu, CentOS, or RHEL)Understanding of Active Directory, DNS, and basic networking conceptsAwareness of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and secure configurationsInterest in infrastructure-as-code and secure system deploymentsStrong problem-solving and collaboration skillsWillingness to support Tier 1/Tier 2 troubleshooting and escalate as neededAbility to follow detailed instructions, document procedures, and take initiative to learnDesired Qualifications: Experience writing or running PowerShell, Linux shell, or Python scriptsExposure to container technologies such as DockerFamiliarity with endpoint protection tools, GPO, or SCCMInterest or experience with hybrid cloud environments (Azure/AWS)Previous internship, lab, or classroom experience with networked systemsStrong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teamsPay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $38.46/hr.
