Overview

DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Journeyman Computer Network Architect to join our team on an upcoming contract to support the United States Coast Guard (USCG) Aviation Logistics Center (ALC) Information Systems Division (ISD) in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. The USCG ALC ISD provides development, security, and operations (DevSecOps) IT support for products and services for the Coast Guard Information Officer (CIO), Commandant, and Coast Guard Cyber Command through a geo-dispersed workforce including military, civilians, and contractor personnel committed to supporting the USCG's missions and requirements, including growing interconnectivity, increased reliance on data and networks, and development of commercial space and artificial intelligence systems.

Position is on-site with off-site capabilities.

Duties & Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the Journeyman Computer Network Architect include:

  • Design and implement computer and information networks, such as LANs, WANs, intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks.
  • Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning.
  • Design network and computer security measures.
  • Research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software.
  • Support monitoring, installation, and maintenance of personal computers, laptops, software, and networks.
  • Respond to system user requests for assistance.
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations, implement corrections, and train users in proper operation of systems and programs.
  • Install and support PC software, perform upgrades, maintain logs and inventory, and assist in resolving operational problems.
  • Support the LAN Administrator with server maintenance and administration.
  • Have general knowledge of network products including, but not limited to, Novell, CISCO, and UNIX.
  • Qualifications
    • Active Secret clearance required.
    • Bachelor's or associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Math, or related field, or at minimum IT Certification. (Note: Two years' experience is equivalent to one year of education.)
    • Two years' experience in planning and designing data communication networks.
    • Two years of performing security remediation on systems with vulnerabilities based on security scans.
    • One year of experience in Agile DevSecOps environments and methodologies.
    • One year of experience with Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket or equivalents.
