SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS SUMMARYThis recruitment will remain active for a period of one year, from the position opening date. If there is no longer a need to fill, the position may be closed sooner, and applicants will be notified.This is a continuous recruitment to fill part-time, and temporary faculty assignments on an as-needed basis. When the need to fill arises, the department will refer to this pool of part-time faculty.Due to the high volume of applications received, we ask that you do not contact the department directly. Possession of the minimum qualifications does not guarantee an interview.Also note that you must upload your resume and transcripts. Applications submitted without all of the required documents will not be considered.Evidence of degree conferred/awarded must be printed on a legible transcript.The minimum required number of references for this position is one (1).The candidate selected for employment will be required to provide the following: official transcripts and verification of experience prior to the first duty day, identification and employment eligibility as outlined in the Immigration Reform and Control Act, fingerprints and required medical certification pursuant to statute. JOB DESCRIPTIONMay be asked to teach days, evenings, hybrid/online and in the dual enrollment program. Online/hybrid teaching requires additional campus-based training.

If degree award date is not posted on transcript your application will be deemed incomplete and removed from consideration.Grade cards will not be accepted in lieu of transcripts.All degrees and course work used to satisfy the required minimum qualifications must be submitted and from accredited postsecondary institutions. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMaster's in journalism or communication with a specialization in journalismORBachelor's in either of the aboveANDMaster's in English, history, communication, literature, composition, comparative literature, any social science, business, business administration, marketing, graphics or photographyOR Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter areaOR The equivalent. Equivalent qualifications may include related education, training, employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.Commitment to diversity.
