Automotive Equipment Technician
The global leader in automotive equipment, Snap-on Equipment, has an immediate opening for an Automotive Equipment Technician. The Technician is responsible for completing service calls within the territory, assisting in problem solving, and performing equipment installation and repair. Responsibilities include servicing equipment such as:
- Wheel Aligners
- Wheel Balancers
- Tire Changers
- Alignment Lifts
- Automotive / General Purpose Lifts
- Specialty Lifts
- Brake Lathes
- Collision Repair Equipment
- A/C Units
Responsibilities
- Follow Snap-on's safety priorities and maintain a safe working environment.
- Utilize Rapid Continuous Improvement practices to enhance daily operations.
- Repair, maintain, and install equipment in the assigned territory, adhering to established standards.
- Assist colleagues with complex customer issues.
- Complete and close service calls efficiently.
- Manage customer equipment needs during and after warranty periods.
- Resolve customer problems to ensure satisfaction.
- Sell service contracts, updates, upgrades, and parts within the territory.
- Contact customers prior to warranty or contract expiration.
- Make cold calls to promote service contracts.
- Schedule regular site visits for equipment servicing.
- Assist with collection of outstanding receivables.
- Perform administrative duties such as onsite signatures, inventory, and fleet management.
- Collaborate with the Snap-on Equipment Sales Force.
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in a technical field, military training, or equivalent with 1-5 years of experience.
- Basic knowledge of pneumatics and strong mechanical skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and PC hardware repair.
- Basic understanding of automotive operations under the car.
- Knowledge of all products serviced by Snap-on and internal procedures.
- Ability to lift 45 lbs and work in environments requiring walking, standing, bending, twisting, kneeling, squatting, and sitting while driving.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with customers.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to work from home and be a self-starter.
