SUMMARY:
We're looking for a passionate and experienced Instructor to lead our Reading Efficiency and Comprehension Improvement Course (REACIC). The ideal candidate will be a dynamic educator with a deep understanding of literacy development, cognitive science related to reading, and effective instructional strategies. You'll be responsible for teaching adult learners how to improve their reading speed and retention, all while enhancing their overall comprehension.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
COURSE DETAILS:
Course Title: Reading Efficiency and Comprehension Improvement Course (REACIC)
Duration: 8-hour Speed Reading class
Total Number of Courses / Repetitions: 16 estimated classes / courses per year for five (5) years.
DUTIES:
· Task-1: Reading comprehension and speed class instruction
o Research, develop, prepare and execute instruction for an innovative class targeting quantifiable student improvement in reading comprehension and speed, utilizing demonstrated/recognized courseware and methodologies that implement adult educational practices and design.
o As a result of the training, the students reading comprehension will, at a minimum, increase an individual's reading speed by 50%.
· Task-2: Instruct class at multiple campuses
o Conduct up to 16 Eight-hour (8-hour) Reading Comprehension and Speed Improvement classes at the Ft. Leavenworth, KS location.
· Task-3: Comprehension and Speed Pre and Post Instruction Assessment / Test
o Develop, prepare, implement, maintain, and provide Reading Comprehension and Speed Improvement instruction pre-test and post-test (result).
o Provide a comprehensive assessment detailing student pre and post-test reading speed and comprehension results.
o Utilize an internally developed reading rate and comprehension assessment to demonstrate student results from course.
· Task-4: Sub-standard Student Report
o Work with the sub-standard students for both academic and behavioral challenges.
o Students who fail to meet minimum standards and/or expectations shall be reported to the Customer.
· Task-5: End of course survey
o Develop, prepare, and conduct an end of class student survey for every class offering.
o Every student shall be provided an opportunity to complete an end-of-class survey, to evaluate the instructor performance, class content, and the student's perception of the intellectual value of the class.
o Provide a copy of all surveys to the Customer, no later than 24 hours after the completion of each class.
· Task-6: Follow on Resources
o Provide the students with resources they can use to continue improvement of their reading speed and comprehension.
