- Jazz Awards for professionalism: Jazz bestows awards to two top-performing graduates at each of the Jazz-affiliated aviation colleges and universities for outstanding contributions to safety, leadership and professionalism.
- Once you have completed your flight training and graduated from your program at one of the affiliated colleges, universities or flight schools listed below, your application will be reviewed under our Jazz Direct requirements.

- We cover North America! Jazz is Air Canadas largest regional operator flying their Air Canada Express brand.
- We operate a fleet of regional jets and turboprops providing Jazz pilots with exceptional skills and experience.
- Our Jazz pilots are the preferred source of pilots to Air Canada.
Qualifications & Applicant Requirements:
- Valid and Current Transport Canada Group 1 Instrument Rating; must currently meet the instrument recency requirements.
- Valid Transport Canada Class 1 Medical.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC).
- Must hold a current passport at time of hire with (6) months of validity.
- Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident without restrictions.
- If you are a Permanent Resident, you must be able to obtain and maintain crew visa documentation required to operate aircraft within the USA.
- Must be legally able to enter the USA without restrictions.
- Must meet Transport Canadas English proficiency standard.
- Must be licensed by Transport Canada to act as a First Officer on a 705-category aircraft (must have written IATRA or Frozen ATPL).
- Must achieve a minimum of 80% on the written CPL, INRAT, IATRA (SARON / SAMRA).
- Must achieve at or above average ranking on all aviation program academic courses.
- Must have no failures on TC flight tests or aviation program check rides (partial pass is allowed).
- Must receive a recommendation from faculty (verbal or written directly from the institution or program).
- Demonstrated high level of professionalism.
- Must be a student, in good standing, from one of the following institutions:
- BCIT: Airline and Flight Operations Commercial Pilot
- Brampton Flight Centre: Integrated ATPL
- Cgep de Chicoutimi: Pilotage daronefs
- Collge Air Richelieu: Integrated ATPL AEC
- Conestoga College: Aviation General Arts and Science
- Confederation College: Aviation Flight Management
- Mount Royal University: Aviation Diploma
- Okanagan College: Commercial Aviation
- Sault College: Aviation Technology Flight
- Seneca Polytechnic: Honours Bachelor of Aviation Technology
- University of Waterloo: Aviation
- Western University: Commercial Aviation Management
- Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre: ATP Program
Jazz Direct Program
Pilots selected for Jazz Direct will be qualified to fly Jazz aircraft directly from an integrated ATPL program or by having a minimum of 250 hours total flying time with a commercial pilot license, multi-IFR and successful completion of the IATRA exam.
