What You'll Do
- Analyze and debug existing mainframe systems to identify and resolve issues
- Lead efforts to transition legacy mainframe infrastructure to modern platforms while ensuring business continuity
- Design, develop, and maintain Java applications that interface with modernized systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions aligned with business goals
- Mentor junior developers in mainframe and Java technologies
- Document system designs, specifications, and updates
- Ensure adherence to development standards, coding practices, and security guidelines
What You'll BringRequired Qualifications:
- U.S. citizenship
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
- Experience with mainframe technologies (e.g., COBOL, PL/1, Natural)
- Proven Java application development skills
- Ability to debug and resolve complex system issues
- Experience with system migration and modernization projects
- Strong communication skills
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+, IBM Certified Specialist, Oracle Certified Java SE Developer
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and DevOps methodologies
- Experience with automated migration tools and legacy DevOps tools
- Exposure to modern stacks like .NET, microservices, data analytics
