Job Title: Janitorial Worker
Job Description
The janitorial worker will be responsible for cleaning hospital rooms, primarily focusing on sanitizing rooms between patient discharges. The role involves extensive walking, so candidates must be comfortable being on their feet all day. Responsibilities include wiping down equipment, emptying trash, sweeping floors, dusting, cleaning spills, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces as needed. The hospital spans multiple floors, requiring keen attention to detail. Assignments and work orders are managed through iPhones issued by the hospital, which also provide cleaning tutorials when needed. Familiarity with smartphone technology is essential, and candidates must be able to learn the hospital's floor plan promptly.
Responsibilities
Clean and sanitize hospital rooms between patient discharges.
Wipe down equipment and sanitize surfaces.
Empty trash and sweep floors.
Dust and clean up spills as needed.
Mop and maintain cleanliness throughout multiple floors.
Learn and navigate the hospital's large floor plan.
Essential Skills
Experience with smartphone technology.
Comfortable with extensive walking and being on feet all day.
Attention to detail in cleaning tasks.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous janitorial experience in healthcare preferred.
Experience in janitorial work or manufacturing/distribution considered.
GED or diploma preferred.

The work environment is very fast-paced, requiring patience as onboarding may take a few weeks. Employees in the EHS department work a rotating schedule, including every other weekend and major holidays. The role demands a lot of walking throughout the hospital. A robust background check is required, and employees must adhere to a strict attendance policy.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
