The Epic Clinical Acute Applications Analyst will have primary responsibility for design, build/configuration, testing, validation, and ongoing support/troubleshooting of acute Epic applications. Responsible for obtaining and maintaining in-depth knowledge of software functionality and acquiring/utilizing knowledge of operational workflows used with the Epic system. Responsible for coordinating aspects of planning, design, development, implementation, communication, maintenance, and evaluation of existing and new functionality related to build and support of Epic and related information systems.

  • Provide ongoing maintenance, support and development to assigned applications and implement new products.
  • Troubleshoot, research, and solve technically challenging problems involving integrated systems.
  • Tests and verifies software releases, upgrades and any changes prior to the promotion of code to the production environment.
  • Generate and update appropriate documentation as per policy and procedure. Including requirements, specifications, change control, end user documentation.
  • Provide education and training for application end user community keeping them informed of new release feature/functionality, changes/revisions that impact the operation.
  • Create and route required operational and management reporting needs as required by management and regulatory agencies.
  • Familiar with process improvement, demand management and project management methodologies.
  • Maintain current knowledge of technology by attending appropriate continuing education training/seminars and reading related periodicals.
  • On-Call Support Required.
  • Participates in new implementation / installation projects.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Preferred Epic Certifications/Proficiencies in Clinical Acute areas such as: Orders/ASAP/ClinDoc/Stork/OpTime/Anesthesia
  • Associates degree or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education, training, and experience in a Healthcare environment required
  • Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Business or a Clinical area is preferred
  • At least 5 years relevant experience in a challenging healthcare environment strongly preferred

TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:

Application Experience:

Epic Application or healthcare IT experience is preferred.

MS Office is required.

Hospital Operations Knowledge / Experience:

General, Radiology, Pharmacy, Nursing, Physician Services, Laboratory, Patient Care Services, Hospital Revenue and/or Patient processing experience preferred.
