IT Technician - Ohel Children's Home and Family Services : Job Details

Ohel Children's Homes and Family Services is seeking a technically skilled candidate with good problem-solving ability for the position of IT Technician. The duties of an IT Technician include being a reference point for all IT related queries at the user's level, responding to user needs in a timely manner, and ensuring the optimal running of all systems, among other technical duties. IT Technicians are expected to display good interpersonal skills as they will interact with colleagues from various departments and executive levels.Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support to end-users, resolving hardware and software issues
• Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and peripherals
• Conduct system upgrades and troubleshoot network problems
• Assist in implementing IT security protocols and ensuring data protection
• Collaborate with team members to manage IT inventory and equipment
• Respond to helpdesk tickets, prioritizing and resolving issues in a timely manner
• Document and update IT procedures and system configurations
• Assist in user training and orientation on IT systems
• Stay current on industry trends and technologies to contribute innovative solutions
• Ensure compliance with company IT policies and procedures

Requirements:

• Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with operating systems, such as Windows and MacOS
• Knowledge of common productivity software
• Ability to work well independently and collaborate within a team
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with end-users
• Detail-oriented with a focus on providing quality customer service
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
• Basic understanding of IT security principles and practices

This Full-time position is based in Brooklyn with some travel within the New York metropolitan area. Some evenings and weekend rotation coverage is required.
