We Love Who We Serve. SUMMARY: Under general direction; define, develop, maintain and advise on the effective use of the Firm's information technology. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Design, test, implement and support basic current and future technologies in production and non-production environments. Assist with the complex environments. Participate in the creation of technical documentation for projects and support (e.g., Technical Requirements, Technical Design, Procurement Specifications, Technical Flow Charts, etc ). Perform problem determination and resolution. Create workarounds and problem determination documentation to aid support associates with the restoration of service to technical outages. Participate in the evaluation and selection of new hardware, operating systems and system utilities. Track, identify and report basic system performance metrics to ascertain health and responsiveness of supported systems. Plan and implement system patches, maintenance release and basic maintenance. Perform and support incident management, problem management and change management processes. Serve on project teams and engineering efforts as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None required. KEY SUCCESS INDICATORS/ATTRIBUTES: Demonstrate effective analytical, problem solving and attention to detail skills. Ability to quickly grasp new technologies. Understands and can effectively work with assigned hardware and software. Demonstrates effective leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability to stay current on newest technology and industry trends. Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate in technical and business terms, verbally and written. Ability to self-motivate, set goals and meet deadlines. Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced, changing environment. Ability to maintain professionalism and tact when interacting with internal and external customers. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related discipline and 1-3 years of systems engineering experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient knowledge and in-depth understanding of how business and technical processes integrate required. Familiarity and/or experience with MS and Unix Operating Systems, Server HW, Databases, WANs, LANs and Storage Management systems preferred. Familiarity with System Development Life Cycle processes preferred. CERTIFICATES AND/OR LICENSES: Certification(s) in Microsoft Engineering, Unix or Networks considered a plus (e.g., MCSE, A+, Network +, CCNA, etc ). TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to travel as needed. (Up to 20%) OTHER: Must be willing to work nights and weekends as needed to perform maintenance and support tasks. Must be willing to participate in an on-call support rotation.
