This mid-to-senior-level position is crucial to maintaining the stability, security, and responsiveness of our IT environment to business needs. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, experience supporting enterprise environments, and the ability to take initiative with limited oversight.You will assist with infrastructure projects, support systems, and server maintenance and provide escalation support for technical issues. You will also help implement system upgrades, manage backups, and monitor systems to ensure optimal performance and security. You will contribute to automation efforts using basic scripting tools, assist in long-term IT planning, and participate in project coordination activities.This role also requires familiarity with ITIL-based service practices and enterprise change management procedures. You will provide leadership to junior staff and serve as a technical mentor on assigned projects.Experience with modern monitoring and observability platforms is expected, along with a demonstrated ability to support strategic infrastructure improvements.This position is an on-site role located at our main facility in Pryor, OK. Occasional remote support and after-hours coverage for high-priority issues is also required.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESMaintain and support the organization's server infrastructure, including virtualization platforms and storage systems, to ensure optimal performance and reliability.Assist in system design, implementation, upgrades, and maintenance efforts.Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues; act as a Tier III escalation point.Support system monitoring, patching, and endpoint protection.Participate in backup and disaster recovery operations.Document configurations, procedures, and system changes.Ensure compliance with IT security policies and audit requirements.Monitor system performance and assist with capacity planning and management.Support MDF/IDF infrastructure and participate in data center maintenance.Collaborate with vendors, project stakeholders, and contractors as needed.Contribute to automation and scripting efforts to improve operational efficiency.Develop and maintain basic automation scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) to streamline repetitive administrative tasks and improve efficiency.Contribute to long-term planning by participating in IT strategy sessions, recommending infrastructure improvements, and supporting budgeting for system upgrades.Coordinate and track small-to-medium infrastructure projects, ensuring timelines, documentation, and communication are adequately managed.Apply ITIL principles in incident management, service request fulfillment, and change control processes.Utilize modern monitoring and observability tools to identify system performance issues and support root cause analysis proactively.Provide mentorship and guidance to junior systems administrators; lead technical efforts as assigned.Requirements QUALIFICATIONSMinimum 6years of hands-on experience in systems administration, or 2 years as an IT Systems Administrator II at Xcaliber and successful completion of a written exam for Systems Administrator III eligibility.Strong knowledge of Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and core Microsoft services.Proficiency with VMware or similar virtualization platforms and enterprise storage solutions.Experience with PowerShell or equivalent scripting languages to support automation of routine administrative tasks.Experience supporting backup and recovery systems.Solid understanding of system performance, troubleshooting, and security practices.Experience with modern systems monitoring and observability tools (e.g., PRTG, Datadog, SolarWinds, or similar).Basic project management experience is required.
