This position has the responsibility for the installation, configuration, diagnostics, performance, backup, and ongoing maintenance of all network infrastructure related equipment at TCHS. This position is also responsible for the effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software and related infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, policies and procedures. This position collaborates with vendors and our contracted managed services team to leverage knowledge and balance workload.SUPERVISION: Responsible to the IT Department and Chief Operations OfficerSHIFT: Full Time, Non-Exempt, Days, On-Call Rotation, Flexible ScheduleJob QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent education/certifications/experience in computer science, information technology, healthcare information technology or related field required.Three or more years of experience preferred as a Systems and Networking administrator.Certifications preferred such as CCNA, CCNP, VCA, VCP, VCAP.Experience administrating a virtual environment, specifically with VMware, VSphere, ESXi, and Horizon View.Strong background using Powershell and writing scripts.Well versed in Microsoft Windows OS, server and SQL.Possess and demonstrate excellent communication skills.Experience working in a team environment.Principal ResponsibilitiesResponds promptly and attentively to internal customer help desk requests providing solutions and/or explanations as needed.Provides computer server specifications, designs, configurations, and implementationsSchedules installations, upgrades and maintenance in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.Install new or rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.Manage daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up.Responsible for the day to day system and network administration support and operations.Participates in annual DR recovery exercise.Remains abreast of the latest IT and Healthcare IT industry trends and best practices.Fully supports and follows IT Department Change Management policies and procedures.Performs on call duties as required.Oversee the general operation of the enterprise network infrastructure at TCHS, including switches, routers, firewalls, wireless controllers, access points, etc.Monitors network and systems performance to maintain optimal performance of infrastructure.Strong understanding of network concepts such as TCP/IP, UDP, VoIP, subnets routing, spanning tree, VPN, etc.Establish and maintain network security structure for all switches, routers, firewalls, remote access, VPNs, wireless, etc. Includes engaging third party vendors to accomplish tasks/ projects.Develop and maintains appropriate documentation on network equipment, configurations, applications, servers and other devices as assigned.Research and apply industry best practices and standards when working on any solution.Apply network equipment firmware & software operating system patches and updates as available.Determine necessary infrastructure hardware upgrades and make recommendations.Train on-site staff on newly developed processes as required.Attend meetings as required.Responsible for maintenance of the system hardware-related performance.Collaborates with IT department members and senior leaders to perform budgeting and project planning activities.Coordinates with department members to orient and train new workforce members.Collectively works with department members to represent information systems, as needed, on organizational committees.Other duties as assigned.Performance StandardsMaintains and promotes good health practices.Will conform to TCHS policies and procedures.Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA.Understand and comply with requirements of Thayer County Health Services Compliance Program, including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, the Compliance Manual.
