About the Role:

The IT Support Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation of all IT systems within our durable goods manufacturing environment in Amherst, NY. This position is responsible for providing timely and effective technical support to end-users, resolving hardware, software, and network issues to minimize downtime and maintain productivity. The specialist will manage and maintain network infrastructure, including cabling and connectivity, to support robust communication and data exchange across departments. Additionally, the role involves administering Microsoft Windows environments and servers to ensure secure and efficient email and system operations. Ultimately, this position contributes to the overall technological efficiency and reliability that supports the companys manufacturing processes and business objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in network administration and help desk support within a corporate or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and server management.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot software, hardware, and network issues effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to assist users of varying technical proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting IT infrastructure in a durable goods manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with mobile device management and remote troubleshooting tools.
  • Knowledge of advanced network cabling standards and practices.
  • Experience with IT asset management and documentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-line technical support to end-users via help desk, addressing issues related to software, hardware, and network connectivity.
  • Administer and maintain Microsoft Windows operating systems and email servers to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Perform remote troubleshooting and on-site support for mobile devices and desktop systems to resolve technical problems promptly.
  • Manage network cabling and connectivity infrastructure to ensure stable and secure network operations across the manufacturing facility.
