IT Procurement Buyer - NYC JOBS : Job Details

The New York County District Attorney's Office (DANY) has an opening for an IT Procurement Buyer in its Procurement and Contract Management Unit. In this position, the IT Procurement Buyer is responsible for procuring IT software, hardware and licenses in accordance with current City, State and Federal regulations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: utilizing various procurement systems, overseeing investigations of vendor responsibility and performance, negotiating contracts including EULAs, providing technical expertise in the development stages of contracts and beyond, providing technical assistance and corrective action to underperforming contractors as necessary, and performing related tasks as assigned by the Unit.

In addition to the minimum qualification requirements, candidates must possess the following: a bachelor's degree required; one (1) year of experience in Information Technology procurements in the public sector. Preferred qualifications/skills include knowledge of New York City's Procurement Policy Board Rules, local laws, and policies impacting procurements, experience with the New York City's Financial Management System (FMS), excellent written, verbal, organizational, and communication skills, ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment, ability to apply critical and strategic thinking, experience culling and analyzing large amounts of data from numerous sources, proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, and ability to update and edit existing databases.
