IT Network Manager - Rockdale Isd : Job Details

Description/Notes: IT Network Manager Reports to: Technology Director Exemption Status: ExemptPrimary Purpose: Administer and operate the district's computer networks. See Major Responsibilities and Duties Education/Experience Preferred Associates degree 2+ years of experience managing networks K-12 Experience Major Responsibilities and Duties Diagnose hardware and software problems, and implement solution. Maintain/Design computer networks, including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, network switches, network access points, and all other technology hardware/software Design, configure, and test computer hardware, networking software and operating system software. Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes. Maintain printers and related hardware, as well as escalate printer malfunctions to vendor. Create and maintain images for PC deployment. Deploy PCs Respond and resolve trouble tickets in the helpdesk system. Research new software as needed by teachers and administrators. Manage/Maintain Active Directory Monitor system logs for errors and failures. Monitor content filter for unauthorized or inappropriate use of the Internet. Secure network by monitoring, controlling and evaluating traffic. Secure and optimize network hardware with updates. Maintain network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, performance tuning, and troubleshooting network problems. Preferred experience in the following Pfsense firewall Aruba Wireless HPE Networking vLans G suite Admin and Chromebooks Group Policies and Active Directory Dameware Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Tools/Equipment Used: Hand tools and test instruments for electronic repairs and cable installations; standard office equipment including personal computers and peripherals Posture: Prolonged sitting; regular kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting Motion: Repetitive hand motion; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; regular walking, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching; may climb ladders Lifting: Regular moderate lifting and carrying (up to 44 pounds); occasional heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over) Environment: Work is performed in an office environment; frequent on-call and after-hours work; occasional districtwide travel; may be required to be on-call 24 hours a day. Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; emotional control under stress

Qualifications: Associates degree 2+ years of experience managing networks K-12 Experience
