Overview The IT Network Analyst III provides all network infrastructure and application support where applicable as well as secondary support for the organization's internal and external network, including network hardware maintenance, applicable network appliance and server installation and configuration, and network application software installation and support. This position is responsible for the design of complex network infrastructure, installing and troubleshooting network systems, performs network configuration and maintenance operations, plans and designs LAN/WAN/wireless/VoIP solutions, and assists in resource planning and assessment of network risks and contingency planning. Responsibilities • Configures and manages network access switches to connect computers, printers, and servers within the City's infrastructure • Understands the different types of ethernet switches and their capabilities, managed and unmanaged • Works to create networks and configure complex network ports to optimize performance and security • Specializes in advanced switching operations including Data Center environments, Nexus switches, and Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs) • Configures and manages network routers to establish and optimize Layer 3 connections, switching and core switch configuration • Works with network routes to connect networks and create Layer 3 links • Works to link computers and networks to the internet, on shared and private connections, and through all medium and circuit types including fiber, ethernet, T1, ISDN, PRI, and others, configuring for optimal, redundant, and/or channeled paths • Responsibilities include network design and documentation, advanced routing internal and external to the City network • Contributes to special projects and network security • Works in various environments using network tools and network software diagnostics and applications to configure, install, repair, or replace various network equipment including but not limited to switches, routers, security appliances, servers, and voice gateways • Contributes to the continuous improvement of network architecture • Collaborates effectively with the service desk, application teams and other departments to efficiently resolve tasks and technical issues • Works to support the LAN/WAN infrastructure • Administrates the maintenance, support, and design of the City network including network monitoring, system testing, and diagnostics • Works closely with other IT Network Analysts • Duties include advanced network design and implementation, project management, product research and recommendation, assisting in budget analysis, and acting as a team lead • Administers City internet infrastructure, security appliance configuration, and call manager systems (IVR, PRIs) • Applies expertise in advanced network protocols (BGP, EIGRP, and OSFP) to design, build, deploy, and maintain complex network configurations on core switches and routers • Maintains safety and technical knowledge, skills, and adaptability by keeping required licenses and relevant certifications current • Prioritizes tasks, assignments, and network projects to resolve network communication, data, and infrastructure issues • Works independently or as team lead performing support services alongside other IT Network Analysts and IT System Analysts as assigned • Document and reports within the City help desk application; customer interface, communication, and follow up; and the timely resolution of tasks and issues as assigned • May be asked to perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications • Requires an Associate's degree or two-year technical certificate • Minimum of four (4) years of related job experience
Licenses and Certifications Required A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire • CCNA Certified Cisco Network Associate required within six (6) months of hire
Preferred Qualifications • CCNP, CCVP, CCSP, or equivalent certification preferred

Basis of Rating A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
