Position Overview: This position requires a strong technical knowledge of Jack Henry Symitar, Excel, Microsoft SQL, SQL Reporting Services, and other analysis and/or reporting BI tools. A good understanding of Credit Union industry standards, terms, and processes along with solid problem-solving skills are critical to the successful execution of this position. This position requires a strong working relationship with those within I.T. as well as those outside the department. The incumbent will work closely with the Process Improvement Manager to implement or change processes in the core. Incumbent can resolve all routine operating problems in the core. The ability to clearly define problems for others within the organization is a crucial part of this role. Proactively takes on tasks outside of realm of expertise and knows where to go to look for answers. Job Responsibilities: Responsible for the oversight, design, configuration, development, maintenance, and support of CORE financial Symitar system. Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Work with the business on their system needs (Development, reports, configuration, and analysis)
  • Manage Symitar configurations, settings, new products, and implement PowerOn tools for the business
  • Performs analysis, design, configuration, testing, training, and coordination of activities necessary to implement user requested enhancements. Types of enhancements may include report development, forms modifications, conversions, interfaces, and creation/enhancement of processes to meet business requirements.
  • Serve as an advocate towards ensuring that the team goals align with business goals and needs
  • Strong analytical skills to solve and model complex business requirements
  • Develop actionable insights from analysis to make recommendations on key business strategies
  • Ability to resolve high level, complex, or previously unknown issues requiring expert knowledge of the CORE financial systems.
  • Ability to work closely with vendors to achieve company goals as needed.
  • Assists the I.T. team with tickets that are related to the core
  • Build presentations and carry out requirements meetings
  • Work closely with the business and assist them in consuming analytic report metrics on a regular basis
  • Assists with usability issues reported by the users, to include the design/redesign of new business processes that optimize the standard functionality provided by the applications.
  • Actively participates in design reviews, providing team guidance toward acceptable, thorough solutions. Coordinates user testing.
  • Participates in new core application deployments by gathering requirements, performing configuration, testing, and training.
  • Provides status reports to management on a regular and timely basis.
  • Provides accurate estimates of work assignments with an expectation of being held accountable to those estimates.
  • Working knowledge and expertise with Advanced Excel query
  • Working knowledge and expertise with SQL Query
Experience/Skills
  • Financial industry knowledge required
  • Symitar I.T. experience required
  • PowerOn (RepGen/Specfile) knowledge a plus
  • Proven analytical, problem solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to plan, organize, delegate and control work list.
  • Business process understanding/experience
  • Functional design and analysis experience
  • Experience with documentation of formal functional and technical design specifications
  • Report development experience
  • Project coordination experience
  • Data conversion/Integration experience
  • Experience in life cycle system testing.
  • Experience with documentation of training/user education materials
  • Remains current with new technology and industry best practices through training, networking, and personal initiative.
Qualifications:
  • Four-year degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Prior Credit Union experience is preferred
  • Understanding of Credit Union operations and output requirements
  • At least 5 years of thorough experience with Jack Henry Symitar system
  • Strong customer service skills and willingness to assist others
  • Able to communicate complex information clearly
  • Attentive to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Able to coordinate well with other departments and personnel
