We are seeking a skilled and motivated IT Azure & M365 Engineer to join our client's dynamic IT team. This hybrid position, based just outside of Albany, NY, offers an exciting opportunity to design, implement, and support cloud-based infrastructure across Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the performance, security, and scalability of cloud platforms-driving operational excellence and enabling the business through innovative cloud solutions. Responsibilities of the IT Azure & M365 Engineer will include:
- Design, deploy, and manage Azure infrastructure (VMs, VNets, Azure AD, IaaS/PaaS services).
- Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, and Intune.
- Implement and maintain security solutions including Conditional Access, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, and identity governance.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and disaster recovery.
- Automate tasks using PowerShell and Azure CLI for efficiency and consistency.
- Collaborate across teams to align cloud strategy with organizational goals.
- Manage user identity, access, and licensing through Azure AD and Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
- Maintain compliance with internal policies and industry standards for security and data governance.
- Provide Tier 3 technical support for Azure and M365 environments.
- Stay current with Microsoft cloud technologies and recommend best practices.
Job Requirements Qualifications of the IT Azure & M365 Engineer:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience managing Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Proficient with Azure services: Azure AD, Virtual Machines, Networking, Storage, and Security Center.
- Strong administration skills in Microsoft 365: Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and Intune.
- Scripting and automation experience using PowerShell and/or Azure CLI.
- Solid understanding of cloud networking, VPNs, and firewalls.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Microsoft Certifications such as: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
- Experience supporting hybrid environments (e.g., AD Connect, Exchange Hybrid).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune), Defender for Endpoint, and Microsoft Purview.
Pay for this position is commensurate with experience and education, ranging roughly from $110,000 - $135,000.
