Investment Officer (Asia Pacific), P-4 (Job Opening No. 259778)

Job Summary

Join the Office of Investment Management (OIM) of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF) as an Investment Officer and help manage a multi-asset, global portfolio exceeding $90 billion. Be part of a dynamic, multicultural team based in New York, serving over 140,000 UN Pension Fund participants worldwide.

This position is located in the Asia Pacific Team within OIM's Public Equities Section. The Investment Officer reports to the Senior Investment Officer (SIO) and contributes to managing the Asia Pacific developed markets equity portfolio, including Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, and Singapore.

The role involves executing investment strategies, conducting research and analysis, monitoring portfolio performance, and supporting due diligence. The incumbent plays a key role in optimizing returns within OIM's risk and policy framework.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Manage and monitor Asia Pacific equity portfolios in line with OIM's investment strategy.

• Conduct fundamental company and sector research incorporating financial, macroeconomic, and ESG factors.

• Implement portfolio rebalancing and performance tracking aligned with benchmarks.

• Perform detailed investment analysis and modeling, including forecasting earnings and valuations.

• Participate in internal portfolio review meetings and present findings and recommendations.

• Engage with company management, analysts, and external advisors for insights and research.

• Ensure portfolio compliance with investment policy, risk controls, and UN principles.

• Assist in preparing reports for senior management and governing bodies.

• Serve as Officer-in-Charge in the absence of the SIO.

• Stay current on industry developments and emerging trends in equity markets.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field required.

• A first-level university degree with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.

• CFA certification or equivalent is desirable.

• At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in equity investment analysis or management, with a focus on developed Asia Pacific markets and Japan.

• Buy-side experience and direct equity recommendation responsibilities are desirable.

• Experience in portfolio construction and risk management is an asset.

• Strong skills in financial modeling and earnings forecasting are highly desirable.
