Investment Associate - Structured Finance & InvestmentsNYC Private Equity - Investment Management FirmJ Harlan Group is currently conducting a search for an experienced and highly motivated Investment Associate - Structured Finance and Investments at a prominent NYC Private Equity - Investment Manager. An exciting opportunity to be a key part of the growth of the firm, funds and team and will work closely with senior members of the firm to evaluate and execute on investments within numerous asset classes and across the capital structure. This individual will be a significant contributor in enabling their vision and helping the organization to grow and improve their businesses. To be successful in this role you must be highly detail oriented and organized, able to meet assigned deadlines and have first class communication and interpersonal skills. Key Responsibilities:

• Financial modeling and cashflow analysis for real asset portfolios
• Managing the structured finance/credit process for the fund investment team- including negotiating and executing financing transactions vis-a-vie revolving facilities, private placements and public capital markets
• Qualitative and quantitative business, financial, and other due diligence in conjunction with the deal team and third-party advisors, agents, accountants
• Preparing internal materials, including Investment Memorandums and transaction analysis for presentation to Investment Committee
• Monitoring and supporting asset portfolios and outstanding financings

The ideal candidate would have a background including:

• 2-4 years investment banking, investment firm or fund experience
• Structured finance, leveraged finance, Aviation, Transportation and/or alternative asset experience a plus
• Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills
• Strong Excel skills required
• Extremely detail oriented
• Ability to manage a process from start to finish with true ownership in areas that might be new to both the individual and even the firm
