About this Role

The Investment Analyst – 2 Year Program is an intensive opportunity at Capricorn Investment Group where the individual will be deeply involved in supporting the firm's investment strategies and managing the portfolio process. The role is part of the OCIO and Sustainable Investors Fund mandates, excluding any focus on the venture capital arm. Over the two-year period, the candidate will engage in portfolio analysis, investment origination, and capital commitment into external fund managers across diverse asset classes. At the conclusion of the program, analysts are encouraged to explore new professional or academic avenues, with a prospect of continuing at Capricorn based on individual performance and discretion.

Responsibilities
  • Support portfolio management through market, performance, and risk analysis.
  • Assist in sourcing, due diligence, negotiating, monitoring, and exiting investment opportunities.
  • Build financial models to facilitate portfolio management and investment due diligence.
  • Integrate sustainability and diversity considerations into the investment process.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive investment recommendation documents.
  • Actively participate in collaborative discussions on investment recommendations.
  • Map and monitor the landscape of funds in various asset classes.
  • Engage with colleagues on special projects as needed.
  • Contribute positively to the high-performing, impact-driven culture.
Requirements
  • 1 – 4 years of experience in investment banking, investment/asset management, or related fields.
  • Proficiency with data/financial modeling skills in Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting, finance, portfolio theory, and capital markets.
  • Interest or experience in returns-driven sustainable investing.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously with proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with data providers such as Preqin, Pitchbook, and Bloomberg is preferred.
  • Experience with CRM systems is preferred; SQL and Python skills are a plus.
  • Minimum education: BA/BS in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or Data Analytics.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
