As an Investment Accounting Analyst, you will play a key role in maintaining and reporting on a diverse investment portfolio that includes loans, bonds, equity, real estate, and alternative assets. You will be responsible for investment reporting, regulatory compliance, reconciliation activities, and ongoing collaboration with internal teams and external partners.Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintain records and documentation for investments, including commercial mortgage loans, bonds, money market accounts, equity, alternatives, and real estate.
- Maintain and enhance cash flow schedules, with a focus on accurate private credit portfolio reporting and custodial account management.
- Monitor and track spread investment program.
- Track and update alternative investment transactions, pricing, and reporting requirements.
- Communicate with commercial mortgage loan providers and gather financial statements and reports.
- Assist with preparation and review of NAIC Investment Schedules (D, B, BA, DA & E), staying current with NAIC regulatory changes.
- Process and maintain budgets, expense accruals and third-party invoices.
- Prepare reports and presentations for AM Best and SRQ submissions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with emphasis in accounting, finance, and/or investment management
- Experience with statutory accounting processes and functions
- General knowledge of NAIC Investment Schedules (D, B, BA, DA & E)
- 4+ years' experience in investment accounting or insurance-related accounting work
- Strong understanding of accounting, investments, and analysis
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills
