**Job Description**

This important position contributes to our success by providing planning and buying activities under the direction of the Production Manager. The Inventory Planner is a cross-functional position that is primarily responsible coordinating job releases with production in an accurate and timely manner. May be asked to releasing purchase orders to vendors. This role will also identify root causes of supply chain issues and implement root cause counter measures as needed.

In this role you will:

* Plan manufactured parts assembly and subassembly work orders utilizing Syteline ERP.

* Implement inventory planning strategies that meet both production and aftermarket service level requirements and work with the purchasing department to implement inventory strategies.

* Be responsible for the analysis of sales order releases with respect to material requirements. Notify manager of any material shortages.

* Interface with all value chain functions such as manufacturing, engineering and customer service on material status, production planning and scheduling issues.

* Maintains commonly used non-machine inventory such as hardware, cutting tools, machining tools, and material prep tools

* Analyzes manufacturing processes, raw materials, routings, and engineering BOMs for accuracy and potential discrepancies.

* Assembles job packets, locates, and prints blueprints and distributes them to production team leaders in a time critical manner.

* Participate in cycle count activities.

* Support in the selection, management, and development of material supply base for outside processes and insource/outsource decisions.

* Review and create parts routing in ERP system to ensure accuracy and proper resources assigned at the direction of the Production Manager

* Participate in continuous improvement projects which reduce costs, improve efficiency, and increase overall customer satisfaction through the materials group.

* Work with the Production Manager to analyze and set up the appropriate qualifiers for companys product minimum order quantities.

* Involvement in data analysis to determine the estimated time required in various steps in production to assist with routing and production scheduling.

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**

* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with quickly changing priorities.

* High School Diploma / Some College or BS/BA Preferred

* Three (3) years of experience in a fast paced, manufacturing environment as a planner, scheduler, buyer, or production control

* Ability to interpret production bill of materials and assembly build processes

* Familiarization of supply chain management in an engineer-to-order business

* Proficient in planning software

* Prior experience in an ERP system

* Ability to read, write and comprehend English

* Highly organized and detail-oriented

* Ability to manage overlapping projects, keep track of deadlines, and efficient use of time

* Strong analytical thinker with problem-solving skills and mathematical abilities

* Superb time management skills

* Great communicator, persuasive and good at presenting information

* Approachable Team Player

* High proficiency in MS Office
