**Description**

Mirion Technologies (Canberra) Inc. a world leader in Radiation Detection products, is seeking to fill a Procurement Agent position within our production group located in Oak Ridge, TN.

We are seeking an experienced Planner/Inventory Clerk to complement our team. The successful candidate will support the procurement efforts of a 70-employee company engaged in light assembly / final inspection and test of electronic instruments (low volume high mix) in the Oak Ridge Area.

**Primary responsibilities include:**

* Maintain inventory stock levels, and Lead cycle count program.

* Cutting all work orders for production staff.

* Assist Plant controller with E&O calculations as needed.

* Obtain clearance and process monthly scrap.

* Planning Production build schedules and communicating with management of unforeseen changes.

* Plan and engage with Managers to understand purchasing specifications and work with suppliers to develop a profile of capability and delivery.

* Verify purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to master lists; clarifying unclear items; validating part numbers and discounts as negotiated. Recommend alternatives when necessary.

* Negotiate with external vendors to secure the most advantageous terms.

* Prepare purchase orders by verifying specifications and price; obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items; obtaining approval from requisitioning department.

* Obtain purchased items by forwarding orders to suppliers; monitoring and expediting orders

* Ensure acknowledgments are received and material due dates are respected.

* Closely communicate with inventory control/ shipping & receiving to validate receipt status and vendor returns.

* Resolve shipment errors with suppliers and follow up on discrepant material.

* Authorize payment for purchases following accurate review of receiving documentation.

* Maintain accurate auditable records of all procurement process which result in high process compliance.

* Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.

* Anticipate unfavorable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies.

* Provides purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.

**Required Qualifications:**

* **Proficiency in current company accounting software SAP and affiliated receiving data.**

* BS degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration. Relevant work experience in lieu of degree may be acceptable

* A minimum of 3 years of direct experience in area of procurement.

* Practical experience in: Supply Management, Tracking Budget Expenses, Vendor Relationships, Organization, Customer Service, Documentation Skills, Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Manufacturing Quality, and Cost Accounting.

* Keen attention to detail and organizational skills and ability to report information, is a must.

* Fully proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel as an analysis tool

* Excellent English written and oral communications skills.

* Ability to work as a team player and willingness to assist co-workers during periods of high workload.

* US Citizenship required

* Will be required to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
