What are the primary job responsibilities?
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide literacy-focused content expertise with a strong skill set in all content (math, science, social studies) and instructional support for Tier 2 and Tier 3 instruction.
- Plan and facilitate professional development sessions focused on effective Tier 2 and Tier 3 instructional strategies.
- Oversee the implementation of MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) and lead related building-level committees.
- Work with the Coordinator of Special Education to ensure effective implementation of MTSS processes and systems.
- Manage and analyze Tier 2 and Tier 3 assessment data to identify network-wide trends and drive the next instructional steps.
- Create and present data trend reports for Tier 2 and Tier 3 instruction to network leadership, supporting data-informed decision-making.
- Supervise the execution of intervention programs, including Read180 and Orton-Gillingham (OG), High Noon, and SAT Enrichment curriculum.
- Conduct Tier 2 observations and provide content-specific, actionable feedback.
- Provide leadership and oversight for Tier 3 Reading Interventionists to ensure high-quality instructional delivery.
- Support differentiated instruction within Special Education self-contained classrooms, particularly during designated differentiation blocks.
- Monitor intervention assessments to guide data-driven instruction.
- Coordinate all aspects of Summer School programming, including planning, reporting, staffing, implementation, and grant management.
- Manage inventory and order instructional materials for Tier 2 instruction, Tier 3 instruction, and Summer Programming, collaborating with vendors to ensure timely delivery and alignment with instructional needs.
- Accurate and timely tracking of student data and ongoing progress monitoring using a combination of provided tools
- Frequent review of student progress monitoring with Lead Reading Interventionist, Principals, and Executive Director of Academics.
- Assist with the screening and evaluation of students using CEN-provided tools.
- Collaborating in the planning and implementation of whole-building literacy celebrations, family engagement opportunities, and incentives that align with the school's Engagement Plan and Academic Model
- Active participation in required professional learning provided by CEN and/or selected strategic partners
- Attend meetings with the Principal, Network Director of Early Learning, teachers, or families as requested
- Deliver model lessons, co-teaching, or other forms of professional learning support to fellow Reading Interventionists
- Engage in ongoing data collection, progress monitoring, data synthesis/analysis, and caseload identification with the Lead Reading Interventionist.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Valid teaching certification; Reading Specialist or Special Education endorsement preferred
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in literacy instruction and intervention, including Tier 2 and Tier 3 support
- Minimum of five most recent consecutive years of successful reading teaching as evidenced by student data
- Deep knowledge of MTSS frameworks, intervention strategies, and data-driven instructional practices
- Proficiency in administering and interpreting literacy assessments to inform instruction
- Experience with evidence-based intervention programs such as Read180 and Orton-Gillingham (OG) preferred
- Strong skills in data analysis, including the ability to identify instructional trends and present findings to stakeholders
- Strong leadership skills and evidence of team leadership experience.
- Proven ability to plan and facilitate high-impact professional development
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with experience coordinating programs and managing materials procurement preferred
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to coach and support educators effectively
- Familiarity with supporting differentiated instruction in Special Education settings preferred
- Will successfully pass a criminal background check
